CTK FAQs
1. How does this differ from other Christ-centered SEL curricula?
CrossTrain Kids is a versatile curriculum that complements any other program a school is currently using. What makes it unique is its emphasis on holistic wellness—spiritual, physical, and emotional resiliency. While it falls under the category of social-emotional learning, CrossTrain Kids goes beyond by nurturing the whole child. We recognize the importance of caring for not just emotional well-being but also physical and spiritual health. We refer to this as the three-legged stool. This analogy helps illustrate that if one leg is broken or unstable, the entire stool can collapse or tip over. We want all three legs of the stool to be solid and strong. The main way we do this is by approaching all three areas through a biblical lens.
2. Who can purchase the curriculum?
Anyone! Churches, schools, and parents who homeschool can purchase CrossTrain Kids. It has been designed to meet whatever needs and structure you currently have. If you would like to proceed with purchasing a package, please don't hesitate to contact support@crosstrainkids.com to initiate the process.
3. Is this curriculum designed for a single year, or can it be used for multiple years?
Our goal is for this curriculum to be used year after year, with new content available annually as long as the CrossTrain Kids ministry continues. The supplemental material is not needed, but will be offered for those who would like to add variety to their curriculum options.
4. What age groups are CrossTrain Kids curricula for?
This curriculum is designed for PK-8th grade, offering three distinct options. We offer a preschool curriculum specifically designed for young children. Our comprehensive K-8 curriculum features teacher manuals and adaptable lessons, making it suitable for both elementary and middle school students. Additionally, we offer a CrossTrain Kids Life Skills Unit, which can be integrated into high school religion classes, college counseling programs, seminar classes, or middle school confirmation. Our mission is to expand this ministry to reach even more age groups, so stay tuned for future developments!
5. What is the cost of the curriculum?
CrossTrain Kids K-8 is $5,000
CrossTrain Kids Life Skills is $2,000
CrossTrain Kids Preschool is $2,000
All three for $7,000 (savings of $2,000)
Our team has developed a document outlining various ways to access private, state, and federal funds to help offset costs. Additionally, we are available to partner and problem-solve ways for your ministry to utilize payment plans if needed. Our ultimate goal is to bring CrossTrain Kids to as many children as possible, and we are here to support you in making that happen.
6. Will students get bored with the same lessons year after year?
CrossTrain Kids was designed for private schools and churches, which is why it is not broken down by grade-level specific content. This allows for extreme flexibility, minimal prep, and the opportunity to combine groups of children. Within the curriculum, there are numerous options for teaching the content and reinforcing what students have learned. Additionally, we will offer a subscription-based package that allows schools and churches to update content as needed. However, we have found that both children and adults need repetition to learn and apply key health concepts for overall resiliency. We aim to establish a consistent language environment across all age levels and classrooms. This enables greater opportunities for collaboration and growth.
7. What will the subscription package include?
CrossTrain Kids will offer a subscription package that includes supplemental materials for new activities, music lists, videos, and more. Keep an eye out for more details to come soon!
8. What support do you offer ministries that want to implement CrossTrain Kids at a deeper level with support from the CTK team?
CrossTrain Kids offers professional development sessions, deeper training on CrossTrain Kids, and consultation services for an additional cost. Schools and churches interested in this initiative can also explore grant opportunities to move forward with an implementation partnership. Please reach out to support@crosstrainkids.com with any questions.
9. Why is there a cost associated with CrossTrain Kids?
CrossTrain Kids is a nonprofit, ministry-based organization dedicated to equipping the next generation with high-quality, Christ-centered curriculum. While we do charge for our materials, these proceeds directly support the development, maintenance, and growth of our programs, enabling us to continue serving families, churches, and communities with excellence.
As a nonprofit, we are committed to making this resource accessible to all. If cost is a concern, we are more than willing to explore partnership options or provide assistance. Our goal is to remove financial barriers so that anyone who desires to use CrossTrain Kids can do so.
