Exploring Funding to Purchase CrossTrain Kids Curriculum
Exploring Funding to Purchase CrossTrain Kids Curriculum: Grants, Title IV, and Title II PD Opportunities
This blog will help outline different funding sources to explore when purchasing the CrossTrain Kids Curriculum. Investing in a high-quality curriculum is one of the most impactful decisions a school or church can make to support students and their outcomes. However, navigating the funding landscape to secure resources for that purchase can be a challenge. In this blog, we walk through three key pathways to help you access funding for purchasing curriculum: grants, Title IV, and Title II, with a focus on how these can align with professional development options available through CTK. Additionally, we offer supporting documents that can be used when applying for funding sources. If you have any questions, contact support@crosstrainkids.com.
1. Start with Grants: Private, Local, State, and National Opportunities
Grants are a powerful way to fund curriculum adoption, especially when they align with the funding source’s mission. Look for:
Private Foundation Grants
Local Education Foundation or District-Specific Grants
State Department of Education Grants
Federal or Private Foundation Grants
Mission Churches - May be eligible for curriculum grants/funding (contact support@crosstrainkids.com for more information)
Tip: When applying for a grant, clearly show how the curriculum aligns with your school’s goals and supports equity, engagement, and academic growth. We have a supporting document that highlights the curriculum and its support for children in developing physical, spiritual, and emotional wellness.
2. Explore Title IV: Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) Grants
Title IV, Part A of ESSA is designed to support well-rounded educational opportunities, improve school conditions for learning, and promote effective use of technology.
As a non-public school, you can use Title IV funds to purchase curriculum, especially if it contributes to:
Expanding STEM or arts programs
Supporting safe and healthy students (where CTK may fit)
Advancing digital literacy or personalized learning
If your school or district receives Title IV funding, connect with your federal programs coordinator to discuss aligning the funds with your curriculum goals.
Note: CrossTrain Kids’ curriculum offerings focus on supporting safe and healthy students, making them a strong fit for Title IV objectives. Please note that, due to the inclusion of religious content in the curriculum, you will need to work through the available materials with your Title coordinator. CTK is exploring an option that may better align with Title IV funding.
3. Use Title II Funds for Professional Development through CTK
Non-public schools within an LEA can receive funds for professional learning, including curriculum development and training. Once you have a curriculum in place, teacher training is essential. That’s where Title II, Part A comes in.
Title II funds are designed to:
Improve the quality and effectiveness of teachers and leaders
Support evidence-based professional development
Promote equitable access to effective educators
CTK offers professional development (PD) services that may be eligible for Title II funding. These include:
Curriculum implementation coaching
Instructional strategy workshops
Virtual PD aligned to your purchased curriculum
When applying Title II funds through CTK, ensure that you document the alignment with your school improvement plan and focus on evidence-based practices.
Tips for Accessing Grants
Consult your LEA or state education department – federal/state funds for non-public schools are often administered via districts.
Check state eligibility and deadlines – each program has its own rules and timelines.
See if you qualify as low-income or Title‑eligible – many funds target disadvantaged populations.
Investigate local foundations – district or community-focused grants often support curricular innovation.
Consider hosting a special offering or fundraising event through your church or school community to support the purchase of the curriculum.
Final Thoughts: Funding with Purpose
Purchasing a curriculum is a significant step, but additional funding may be available to support the process. By tapping into grants, leveraging Title IV funds, and utilizing Title II for professional development, your church or school can establish a comprehensive and sustainable learning environment for both students and those teaching them. CTK is here to help, with both robust curriculum options and high-quality PD to ensure a smooth and effective implementation.
