CrossTrain Kids Life Skills Unit
This blog will help outline how to utilize the Life Skills Unit.
During middle and high school, students generate deep questions about identity, purpose, and relationships. They will navigate big topics and complex issues, and they will endure daily battles with what the world deems as truth.
CrossTrain Kids is a Christ-centered curriculum that addresses spiritual, emotional, and physical health and well-being. With a heavy emphasis on identity and purpose, it also addresses the three areas of health, which we refer to as the three-legged stool. One of our favorite tools focuses on understanding how to identify feelings, validate that they are real, and, most importantly, align them with God’s truths. We call this tool I-V-A.
Life Skills Design:
Rooted in scripture and practical application, this curriculum goes far beyond textbooks. It invites students into meaningful conversations about faith, mental health, family and peer relationships, their identity, and healthy living. Each unit is structured to promote resiliency, emotional intelligence, and spiritual growth, while encouraging children to ground their lives in Christ. This can also be used in small groups with adults or as part of a parent and family outreach program to teach about healthy habits and build resilience within your community.
Here’s what’s included in the package:
Six slide show presentations that guide each unit topic with three natural breaks to section information as needed
Student note-taking document for active engagement and communication with home
Embedded activities and guided discussions to make the content personal and impactful
Low-prep format with minimal materials required—lessons are flexible in how you teach and expand upon them
Who Is This Curriculum For?
This program is ideal for a variety of settings, making it easy to implement in both school and church environments:
